AS I SEE IT: MEGAN PULS

THE MAKERS MARK

Ceramics have been in history for thousands of years. All ceramics are used in everyday life — tea bowls — bowls — plates — vase — sculpture. Ceramics bring a feeling of well-being. I’m part of that being.

DEVELOPING WORK

When developing a block of work — in mind’s eye — snippets are recorded in each piece mimicking nature — all colour, shapes are provided — created into uniqueness.

Telling stories using metaphors — icons — are a way of life’s recordings.

MATERIALS

Ceramic materials are chosen to give a degree of…uniqueness. They form the canvas to create.

I love using porcelain and my recycled clays — opposites attract.

INSPIRATION

Inspiration grows as your work develops. [I’m] inspired by decaying wood — harmony — space — trees — rust — ebbtide — wetlands — silt — lava — all things found natural.

Fossicking in the natural environment is a force — create.

PLACE

Primitive art — basic tools — water — fire — wood — air…these I find in parts of the world, as in Ubud — Lombok — Central Australia. [I] love the connection of ceramics.

PRACTICE

I am my work place — my inner being.

MAKERS GALLERY

I’m so looking forward to exhibiting with Stephanie — an excellent curator — excellent gallery.

“SILT” is all new work and my major exhibition this year.

FUTURE

My future creativeness is to go beyond.
