More About The Artist
Kate Holt is an architect, researcher, and ceramicist, with a deep interest in people, place, and culture.
Although new to ceramics, Holt has been closely involved with art and design for many years. She was shortlisted twice for creative direction (Architecture) for the Australian pavilion at the Venice Biennale (2012 and 2022) and has served as a member of the inaugural Sunshine Coast Arts Advisory Board (2016-2018).
As an emerging environmental artist, her ceramic journey began in 2023. Her work explores climate change, environmental conservation, and sustainable food production, and is informed by interdisciplinary knowledge, research, and respect for Indigenous people, practices, and country.
