More About Kalyanii
For centuries we have lived with dog’s, they have hunted with us and for us, and kept us company curled up by our sides.
Today they still continue to bring a ton of delight, so much so that we put up with the hassles of piles of hair and sand and mud, digging, barking, chewing, separation anxiety, fleas ticks, worming vet visits, the list goes on, but we do all this because once you decide on a furry friend, they become an integral part of the family for life, they hold the happy within a household, no one is ever as happy to see you, especially when your kids get older, they also keep you off the couch and lapping the block instead of just thinking about it. I’m not sure that anyone else can love you as unconditionally and with all their whole being as much as a dog.
And like us they have their own love language, Kazi’s love language was physical touch, chasing a ball, when she was younger, she would do it for hours if you let her, she even lapped the fastest dogs in the dog park in the early days, ‘wow! People would exclaim, she’s fast’.
This body of work is a representation of old-fashioned pure joy, and how much dogs bury themselves deep within our lives and our hearts.
RIP to our Kazi dog who passed away while I put this exhibition together. You knew how to connect with all of us in a different way. You will be missed, and forever loved for the joy that you brought into our lives.
