More About Grant
I love bringing the natural beauty of plants into my living spaces.
For Pot Plantery I have primarily used terracotta. It is familiar, functional and divine to work with.
I have continued with my spotted gum style. I enjoy the organic softness and the way shadow and light enriches the surface.
Not having the luxury of wood firing my work has been challenging. Electric firing is a more realistic option at this point in my life.
I will be building a new wood kiln in the near future.
I make pots for me.
The therapeutic mindfulness of forming something out of a piece of earth fills me with a sense of achievement that I can’t find anywhere else.
Clay never keeps secrets or pretends to be something that it is not. Clay appears to be simple and approachable but is incredibly complex. It is sloppy, soft, squishy, stiff, hard, brittle, sharp and more!
Clay has helped me learn to let go, I love clay.
