Holocene refers to the present geological epoch or the system of deposits laid down during this time. On an ancient land using raw material from this place, I am in a state of awe “ a feeling of reverential respect mixed with fear and wonder” in equal measure. The works in the show were all created after the rebuild of the kiln in January 2022. They continue to explore the making and finishing of works in one sitting, wrestingly with the plasticity of this wonderous material.
