More About Lorraine
In ‘Bloom’, I invite viewers to embrace the beauty of imperfection. ‘Bloom’, a series of sculptural vessels in which I fused porcelain and fabric to embody the essence of transformation reflects my own creative processes of discovery, growth, and revelation.
The folds and layers of these materials with their imperfect openings and cracks – together with the simple palette of white, black, and pink — create texture and depth, inviting the viewer into a place of contemplation. I find solace in such imperfections. In my work, perfection is not a fixed point to be reached but a fluid and ever-evolving state of being, signifying the richness of our individual experiences.
Each vessel in ‘Bloom’ celebrates the complexity of the human experience and how we navigate our world. In celebrating the imperfect, we discover the true essence of perfection—a tapestry of flaws and intricacies which enrich our lives.
